Shaft Angle @ Address

What is Shaft Angle @ Address?

Shaft angle is a measure of how steep or flat the club shaft is held at address.  Shaft Angle is related to how flat your putter head sits on the green at address.  Too steep of a shaft angle will cause the head to lie toe-down and heel-up, while too flat of a shaft angle will cause it to sit toe-up and heel-down.

What should Shaft Angle @ Address be?

Your Shaft Angle @ Address should typically be the the same as the lie angle of your putter.  (If you don't know your lie angle, the standard is 71°.)  Matching this angle will cause the putter head to lie flat on the green at address, which will help you bring it back flat at impact.

Tips on Shaft Angle @ Address

If you find yourself addressing the ball with the putter head sitting toe-up or toe-down, try grooving your Shaft Angle @ Address in Groove Mode.
